Will These Predictions Come True?
After last season, it is safe to say that expectations are high on the Buccaneers in regards to the upcoming one. With one of, if not the, most lethal lineups in football, how could they not be so high. With the team being quarterbacked by Tom Brady can they return to the promised land known as the Super Bowl? Will Antonio Brown get more touches and opportunities to score? Will the defense come alive during the regular season, just like it did in last year’s playoffs? These are all questions we will look at in this article.
A.B Will Have More Than 10 T.D’s
In eight games played (four of which he started), Antonio Brown was able to haul in four touchdowns. This is the same guy who we all thought would never play a down of NFL football ever again, after his antics with the Steelers and Raiders. It was easy to forget that Brown is only five years removed from a 12 touchdown season, as well as three years removed from a 15 touchdown season. For the entirety of the mid-2010s, Brown was a force to be reckoned with and was often called the best receiver of the decade.
This year I believe Brown will get more looks from Brady, as well as more opportunities to thrive in Tampa Bay. Look for him to reprise his play of old and haul in more than ten touchdowns. This feat should be quite easy for him to accomplish, as he is still a very talented receiver, and he also has the greatest quarterback of all-time throwing to him, so that never hurts.
Will the Buc’s Defense Bully or Bust?
Last year, the Buccaneers’ defense was like a roller-coaster; they’d be going up and then would be coming down just as fast as they got up to their peak. The inconsistency on defense really hurt the Buc’s and caused many of their problems during the season. However, when the playoffs started it’s as if the defense was possessed by defensive gods who shone their light down on them and blessed them with consistent, suffocating defensive skills.
If the Buccaneers’ defense can play just like they did during the playoffs during every game of the season, I really can’t see anyone beating this team. Look for this team to go 17-0, but only if their defense can play consistently.
Bucs Repeat As Champs
I know this isn’t a very bold prediction, seeing as to how stacked this Tampa Bay lineup is, but hey, I thought I should still be putting it out there. This team is simply nasty, with depth all around the lineup, and with the known notion that Tom Brady’s window is quickly closing, so now is the best time to go out and win another Super Bowl.
Everyone on this team is all in. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on this Buccaneers squad to recapture the Super Bowl.
And there you have it, my three bold predictions for Tampa Bay next season. What do you think? Do you think they can accomplish these predictions? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments below!
