After an emotional reunion with his former club, Tom Brady leads the Buccaneers against state rivals, the Miami Dolphins, in what should be an entertaining game. It is no secret that the Dolphins have struggled this season, as they are currently 1-3, and have lost by pretty sizeable scores in two of their last four games. Missing Tua Tagovailoa has obviously played a part in their misery, but the fact of the matter is that this team is… bad.
In saying that, it is never wise to underestimate your opponent, so here are three keys the Buccaneers will need to follow in order to beat the Miami Dolphins this upcoming Sunday. Without further ado, let’s jump right in!
Use The Run-Game
I know, I know. Almost every article I write somehow seems to mention the fact that the Buccaneers have a weak running game. Well, the running game is like a muscle, you need to use it often in order for it to be running smoothly.
When you have aerial weapons such as Antonio Brown, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Rob Gronkowski, it’s easy to see how you can neglect your running game. If the Buccaneers want to come away with an easy victory on Sunday however, they are going to need to use it to the best of their advantage.
The Dolphins Rush Defense is atrocious, as they are slated 27th in the league and are allowing 136.8 rushing yards per game. The Buccaneers have two weapons in Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II at their disposal when it comes to the running game. Use them! All you will be doing is helping yourself this coming Sunday.
CornerBacks Need to Be On Fire
If you thought the Dolphins Rush Defense was trash, then you’ll really be frightened with their Rush Offense, which is pretty much non-existent. That means that Jacoby Brissett, the Dolphins starting quarterback, will be most likely airing it out on Sunday.
Brissett is no slouch, as he has an arm that can hang with his NFL counterparts, so naturally, you can expect him to be using the air on Sunday. That means that the Buccaneers CB’s are going to need to be at their best if we want a smooth game and win.
Defense Needs to Replicate Last Week
Last week the defense of the Buccaneers was strong as ever, keeping the Patriots running game to -1 rushing yard. If the Bucs are going to want an easy win against the Dolphins, then the Bucs D will have to be in tip-top shape as they were last Sunday.
All these keys are fairly straightforward and simple and are pretty easy to follow, so if the Bucs follow these guidelines they should have a pretty easy win on their hands this upcoming Sunday. Who do you think will win? Let me know in the comments below!
