Brady Surpasses Brees Against Former Team; Now #1

When it comes to Tom Brady, nothing should ever surprise us anymore. We shouldn’t be surprised that his 22-year career has been the making of a Hollywood Epic (which even then you couldn’t have written some of the things he’s accomplished.

Over the years, we’ve come to see Brady for what he is; the G.O.A.T. In my opinion, he’s not only the greatest of all time in the NFL but in all four major sports combined. I mean c’mon! The man is 44 years old and is balling out of control. Some are saying he’s playing better in his 40s than he did in his 20s.

Tom Brady is the G.O.A.T

Brady has it all; the Super Bowl rings, the MVP awards, the Brazilian supermodel for a wife, the boats, the cars…on and on and on, the more you look at Brady, the more luxury you begin to see. Heading into Sunday night, however, there was one thing Brady was missing from his collection; the top spot for passing yards in the NFL.

That honor belonged to Drew Brees, who retired at the end of last season. Over his 19-year career, the former New Orleans Saints quarterback was able to throw for a whopping 80,358 passing yards. Along with those passing yards came a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP for Brees in 2009.

On Sunday Brady was standing pat at 80,291 passing yards on the all-time list, meaning he needed just a measly 68 yards to become the all-time leader, surpassing Brees and just adding to his lore as the G.O.A.T. At this point, it’s just ridiculous how much Brady has accomplished in the NFL. He’s like that kid in school who keeps winning all the awards.

Tom Brady reigns supreme

Well, Brady did break the record, as he connected on a 28-yard pass with Mike Evans to make it official.

Sunday also marked the first time Brady has played at Gilette Stadium since leaving for the Buccaneers two years ago. With all that is being said about him and Belichick’s relationship, many fans were left wondering what would happen once Brady stepped onto that field. It’s safe to say that the New England faithful still love their Tom Brady.

A beautiful tribute video by the Patriots

As I am writing this the game is tied up at 13 a piece, which is a lot closer than I thought it would be. Even if Tom Brady and the Bucs do end up dropping the game (which I know they wont) they could still be proud that their leading man has written himself once again in the record books.

Mr. Brady, thank you for being amazing!
