The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back on the winning course once again, as they trashed the lowly New York Giants 30-10. The Giants were deemed a dangerous team in this game, because similarly to the Washing Football Team, they had nothing to lose. One would expect Joe Judge and Jason Garrett to come up with some new offensive plays, but alas, they stuck to the plain-jane plays that haven’t gotten them anywhere.
This game wasn’t particularly exciting, as the Buccaneers looked like they executed their normal, run of mill, game plan against a Giants team that looked like it lacked enthusiasm. The Buccaneers were much better offensively this week compared to last week, especially Tom Brady. Although he threw an interception, Brady seemed a whole lot more honed in and focused in this game. Perhaps it helped that Rob Gronkowski was back in the lineup as well.
Brady would finish this game with a QB rating of 89.7, as well as 307 passing yards and two touchdowns. Brady’s favorite target this evening seemed to be all-star receiver Mike Evans, who accumulated 73 passing yards on six receptions. Rob Gronkowski also had a big game, as he posted 71 yards on six receptions as well.
The Buccaneers receiving corps just had an absolute monster of a game all-around, as Chris Godwin also had a huge game, as well as, surprisingly, Leonard Fournette. However, the run game struggled, as the team managed only 94 yards on 27 carries. If this team wants to develop into a well-rounded offense, they really need to get a hold on their rushing game. This will immediately help them, especially when it comes to playoff time.
I really would have thought that the defense would get at least one sack on Daniel Jones, but alas, this wasn’t the case. The defense did play well, however, but that’s not too hard to do when you’re playing an atrociously bad Giants offense. Hopefully, they come across an opponent that can really test them.
Next up the Buccaneers take on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday. The Colts are coming off a surprising win against the Buffalo Bills, one in which Jonathan Taylor scored a whopping five touchdowns. I don’t see the Colts being that much of a challenge for the Bucs, but they could surprise them just like they did the Bills.
