Brady Breaks Record; Bucs Man-Handle Bears

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are becoming synonymous with NFL excellence this season. Game after game, they seem to be setting the bar higher and higher for themselves. It’s hard to argue against this team going back to the Super Bowl and winning it all because that’s how damn good they look.

On Sunday, the Chicago Bears rolled into town looking to try and put an end to the elite play of this team from Tampa Bay. Sadly (not for Bucs fans) they were steamrolled and that idea quickly flew out the window.

Tom Brady became the first-ever quarterback in NFL history with 600 passing touchdowns, marking his name in NFL lore, and further cementing his legacy as the greatest to do it of all time. On the day, Brady had four touchdowns, followed by a 20/36 completion percentage and 211 passing yards. His dueling quarterback Justin Fields did not fare as well as he did.

Fields looked like the rookie quarterback that he is yesterday, making silly mistakes and forcing throws into areas that would spell out “INTERCEPTION”; he would go on to have three on the night. Simply stated, the Bears looked like a Division 3 High-School team compared to the Buccaneers last evening.

The run-game really came alive for the Buccaneers as well, as they had both Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II rush for more than 50 yards on the day. Fournette would even go on to secure a touchdown in the victory.

The Buccaneers running game has really come alive in the past couple of games, and that is all thanks to Bruce Arians finding the optimal way to use Fournette. The former Jacksonville Jaguar has been enjoying a career resurgence this season and due to his recent performances, is slated to be named to a pro-bowl this year.

No one was perhaps more electrifying today than Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, who combined in catching Tom Brady’s four touchdown throws. Evans would actually catch three of them, capping off a vintage Evans performance fans have been waiting to see all season. The Texas native now has seven touchdowns on the season.

I would get into how the Bucs defense flat-out dominated the Bears, but I think the score pretty much says everything. All in all, it was a flawless performance by the Buccaneers, and they will look to carry on this momentum heading into next week’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
