Your Reigning, Defending, Super Bowl Champion, Tampa Bay Buccaneers made moves ahead of their upcoming game with the Philadelphia Eagles. Richard Sherman was placed on the IR with an Achilles injury.. Effectively ending his playing season. Sherman was recruited to fill in for an injury-depleted defensive backfield in late September. After being out of football for 288 days, Sherman came in and played 3 games in 12 days. It was only a matter of time before his body rebelled against him. Sherman did not give his body enough time to get in condition because the need was so great that he play immediately. His body didn’t give him a lot of playing time before giving him a hamstring injury. He was in and out of the line since the 6th game of the season but he had bought the Bucs enough time to get on the mend. Sherman actually contributed over and above what could have been expected of him. He made plays when he was on the field and when he was injured he coached the younger players. He was an important part of the team’s success.

Shaq Barrett, Giovanni Bernard, Lavonte David and Leonard Fornette were all activated off of the Covid list or IR this week. The move clears the way for them to play against the Eagles on Sunday. It is not known if they will. But they are available.

The Eagles quietly have developed theNFL’s best rushing attack. Using a wildcat/quarterback option, they place a lot of pressure on the front line to stay disciplined. The Eagle QB has shown that he can scamper for larges clumps of yardage if not contained.

The Eagle front office has also quietly built the league’s 10 best defense. A fact that is not lost on Tom Brady who states. “This is a football team that has been playing very well. They are good on offense. They have a very good defense with a good front that is very healthy. It’s going to be a very tough game.”

Yes, Buc fans it is going to be a tough game fans. Get your buttered popcorn ready.
