Buccaneers Filled with Pro-Bowl Selections

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been blessed to feature a roster that houses some of the finest talents the league has to offer. With so much talent to go around, I am going to showcase the possible Pro-Bowl selections this roster has.

As you will see, the list is somewhat short, but what we lack in quantity (in terms of pro-bowl terms) we more than makeup for in quality. Honestly, the entire offensive lineup for the Bucs could be selected to the pro-bowl this year, but it seems only two will make the cut; let’s find out who those two are.

Tom Brady

It must feel as if I’m repeating the same things over and over every week by talking about how great Tom Brady is, but, the numbers don’t lie. At the tender age of 44, Brady is outplaying all the other quarterbacks in the league, many of which are 20 years younger than him. Not only is he an ageless marvel, but he is also the most accomplished NFL player of all time.

Tom Brady surpassed the 600 passing TD mark, becoming the first ever QB

Just this season Brady broke the record for most passing touchdowns by a given player in the NFL. To top it off, Brady also currently leads the league in passing yards, at 2650. Remember, this means that Brady has surpassed names such as Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, and Patrick Mahomes; all at the age of most NFL quarterbacks watching their lawns grow.

Brady not being selected to a pro-bowl this year would be a crime against humanity. Simple as it is, Brady may not be selected due to his age, which is quite ridiculous in my opinion. Oh who am I kidding, the guy’s going to the pro-bowl whether anyone likes it or not.

Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin has been having one of those seasons; and by one of those seasons, I mean a season where is heavily outplaying fellow receivers Antonio Brown and Mike Evans. Normally, when you are surrounded by such stars, your play might not be as “up there” as theirs, but Godwin has not faltered yet.

This season Godwin has consistently proved that he is a legitimate deep aerial threat, and has quickly become Tom Brady’s favorite target. No wonder the man has accrued 660 receiving yards, and it is top-10 in the category.

He is not in the top-5 of receiving yards, but Godwin still deserves a call to the pro-bowl this year based on the sheer improvements he’s made from last season. The Bucs have found a diamond in the rough with Godwin, and hopefully, he is recognized this season for his stand-out play.

Many Others Who Don’t Make the Cut

There is a slew of others who have just missed out on making the pro-bowl. Several linemen are actually worthy, but as far as position players such as CB’s, safeties, and linebackers, many have underperformed this season, leading to empty spots on this year’s pro-bowl team for the Buccaneers.

Hopefully, the defense wakes up to a point where they might actually make the pro-bowl this year. As I stated in my article earlier this week, the defense has been atrociously bad at staying off the penalty board. They have amassed penalties in key situations, which ultimately led to their loss to the Saints last week.
