Bucs Poised to Rebound Against Giants

Last week the Buccaneers were absolutely stunned by the lowly Washington Football Team. It should have been an easy win for the Bucs, who were 6-2 before the matchup and had heavily out beaten their prior opponents. Alas, the myth of Taylor Heinicke woke his inner monster up and balled out against his favorite opponent; Tom Brady.

Although they are still reeling from their disappointing loss, the Bucs have to move past it and keep their eyes on their next game this coming Sunday; a date with the New York Giants. Similar to the WFT, the Giants are at the bottom of the NFC East, and haven’t had much to cheer about. At just 3-6, the team is suffering yet another season filled with disappointment.

The Buccaneers’ confidence is at an all-time low right now, but what better opponent to come their way than the New York Giants. The Giants have multiple holes in their game, especially on the offensive side. The Giants have arguably the worst offense in the league, mainly because they just aren’t exciting to watch on the offensive side of the game.

Daniel Jones dreams of being as fast as Tyreek Hill
Daniel Jones is a mobile QB

Daniel Jones is a fantastic quarterback, but his offensive coach, Jason Garrett, isn’t utilizing him the way he should be. He has Jones throwing a lot of slant routes and keeping him in the pocket when “Danny Dimes” is really a fluid quarterback who can run just as easily as he can throw. In my opinion, Garrett is using some plays he fell back on in his Cowboy’s days, but it simply isn’t working with Daniel Jones; he’s an entirely different quarterback from what Garrett has had in the past.

Due to this, the Tampa Bay defense will have a field day with Jones on Sunday. I am predicting a game where the Bucs defense absolutely lights it up, getting over 3.5 sacks on the young Jones. Even though we have lost a handful of players to injuries, look for depth players to step up in a big way.

The Bucs will sack Jones more than 3 times on Sunday

This is also the perfect game for Tom Brady to get his mojo back. It’s no secret that the 44-year-old has been struggling as of late, but the Giants defense has also been struggling this year, especially on deep-pass coverages. Although the Bucs have had injury trouble with their receivers, Brady still has his favorite deep-threat WR, Chris Godwin.

Godwin has become a perennial pro-bowler this season, as he has 717 receiving yards in only 9 games. The Bucs will need him to be on his A-game come Sunday, as he will lead the Bucs in targets and catches made. I would take the over on him getting 100+ receiving yards.

All in all, I don’t see the Buccaneers struggling in this game. My prediction; 28-10 Buccaneers. What do you think? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments below!
