Bucs VS Panthers Game Preview

It seems every day I watch the news the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are mentioned; and not for reason directly relating to football. These distractions can only plague a team heading forward, so it’s important they get their mindest heading into the most wonderful time of the year; playoff time.

Before they cross over into the playoffs, however, they will need to wrap up their final season game against the Carolina Panthers. These two teams met just two weeks ago, and the Bucs came away with a dominant victory in that contest. This contest might be much of the same, seeing as the Buccaneers have exclusively had Sam Darnold’s number all season.

The Bucs D has eaten opposing teams

Darnold is only partly to blame for his poor play against the Buccaneers, as his O-Line is also very much to blame for the quarterback’s woes against opposing teams this season. In essence, the offensive line has let teams absolutely annihilate their quarterbacks, as they rank in as one of the worst teams in blocking. The offensive line was especially atrocious in week 17, when they allowed 7 sacks and 8 quarterback hits.

Another reason this should be added as another win in the W column for Tampa Bay is that last game against the Panthers they were without Mike Evans, who is now available, and in the lineup, for the Bucs this upcoming game. Although Antonio Brown is no longer with the team, fans should rejoice in knowing that Mike Evans will be shouldering the load of Brady’s aerial offense.

And how about Brady, who has seemingly had one of the best seasons of his career; at the age of 44! Brady’s stat line this season is something to be admired, as he has posted 4990 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 100.5. These numbers are similar to some of the top seasons he had in New England during his 20s and 30s. All in all, I know the ageless wonder will figure out a way to get it done against the Panthers on Sunday to close out the season on a high note.

Overall this season has been anything but dull, and I’d rather be on the edge of my seat than watching a boring team (Giants). Sunday will mark the finale of this incredible season, and I just wanted to express my neverending thanks to all who take the time to read my articles. Without you, there would be no motivation to write, you are the reason I try and bring some entertainment into your days, even if only for a quick minute of reading.

‘Til next time!
