There were two recent rankings of NFL players that came out in the last week. NFL.com had Pat Mahomes #1. Aaron Rodgers #3, with Tom Brady, ranked at #7. ESPN had Mahomes at #1, Rodgers at #3, and Brady at #20.
There is obvious bias based in both polls when one considers Tom Brady. Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. Besides that alone here are 5 MORE reasons Brady should be ranked the #1 player in the NFL you would want on your team.
- The QB position is the most important position on the team. More is asked and demanded of the QB than of any other position. His decisions affect whether the team is going to win or lose more than any other. Brady is the best at making the right read at the right time.
- No QB reads a defense better than Brady. This is evident in the fact he doesn’t have to run all over the field like a chicken with his head cut off. He makes pre-snap reads and in-play reads within seconds of the snap and gets the ball off.
- You don’t go to 10 Super Bowls, winning 7 of them without being talented. His arm strength and accuracy get overlooked. But he had made good receivers look great and average ones look good. He can deliver the ball with touch or with speed. He puts it where only his receiver can get it. He minimizes their collision impact
- He demands more of himself than anyone else. He has changed his diet. He has developed a workout program centered around being physically and mentally ready. Mentally he has improved every year. He even appears to have gotten better physically. He is able to withstand the grind of the NFL
- The demands he places on himself make his teammates play better. They rise to his level. They start demanding excellence in themselves. They study more film. They develop camaraderie. Offense, defense, special teams start working toward a common goal. WINNING
If you absolutely, positively HAD to win one game. The 1st guy you want on your team in the NFL today IS Tom Brady. There is no way around it. That makes him the #1 player in the NFL

I love it when Brady keeps being ignored as the best Quarterback in Football. This allows him to remain below the screen. If one is rated the best, it draws a lot more attention and energy against their opponents. So why are you all complaining about Brady’s rating? Let it lay quietly. That is, until Brady and his teammates arrive on the playing field. So please, don’t make a lot of noise. And all will be well.
