Garrett Suffers Minor Injuries In Car Crash

As many of you have probably already heard, the Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett suffered numerous injuries during a single car crash a few days ago. He was immediately transferred to the hospital. However, it was with non-life-threatening injuries. Now we officially know what he’s currently suffering from.

After being released from the hospital late on Monday night, he had to return the following day to get more tests done. It isn’t yet known when he can return to the football field yet either. The report stated that he was dealing with various lacerations. Along with a shoulder strain and a biceps strain following the accident.

Don’t worry, there wasn’t anything that could get him in trouble with the law either. He wasn’t impaired in the slightest during the accident. He was driving alongside another passenger on Monday after leaving the team’s practice facility. Shortly afterwards the accident occurred. Police later determined that he was alert and aware at the time they got to him. Thankfully, both Garrett and his fellow passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time also.

Cleveland’s Response To Crash Involving Garrett

The Browns organization has also released a statement regarding the incident recently as well. They said, “We are thankful that Myles, his passenger and no other parties were seriously injured in the single-car accident yesterday.

After medical evaluation today, our team doctors at University Hospitals have concluded that Myles has sustained a shoulder strain, biceps strain, minor lacerations as well as some bumps and bruises to various other body parts. Myles didn’t suffer any fractures. And has also cleared concussion protocol.” In all honesty, this was probably his best-case scenario for an accident that was reported to have seen his car flip multiple times.

The statement from the Browns continued by saying, “Currently, our focus is on providing Myles the medical care needed for him to return to football activity. Although we hope to have him back soon, his availability for Sunday’s game in Atlanta will be evaluated by team doctors throughout the week.” This isn’t entirely surprising though. Two strains in his arms along with bruises and lacerations doesn’t always equal to playing a full-time football game that same week.

Garrett’s Future Following Injuries

Garrett has appeared in three games so far this season for the Browns. He’s been able to rack up seven tackles and three sacks during that span. Coming into this game he has the questionable tag to appear when they host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. We should all be incredibly thankful that he was able to walk away from an accident like this with only minor injuries. Single car accidents just like this one could have easily wound up ending far worse for everybody involved. We’ve already seen it in the past. I believe Cam Newton had a serious back injury with a car accident himself. Back when he was still the star of the Carolina Panthers.

On top of that, it isn’t going to be turning into a legal issue off the field either. With police confirming there being no impairment in the slightest. He can simply return to the football field whenever it is that he feels ready to do so. Cleveland Browns fans can now breathe a sigh of relief following this news.
