Scotland’s woes deepened just before halftime when Ryan Porteous was sent off, and Kai Havertz converted the resulting penalty to make it 3-0. Germany continued their onslaught in the second half, with substitute Niclas Fullkrug adding two more goals in the 68th and 76th minutes.
Scotland managed a consolation goal in the 87th minute through an own goal by Antonio Rüdiger. Emre Can sealed Germany’s comprehensive victory with a deflected shot in stoppage time, bringing the final score to 5-1.
The match saw Germany’s young talents shine, as they controlled possession and created numerous scoring opportunities, while Scotland struggled to cope with their pace and skill, especially after being reduced to 10 men.
