While the Buccaneers are laden with quality as well, there’s something about the Chiefs that makes me fall for them. One of them is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL, young or old. He is smart, he moves in and out of the pocket, and he has a great arm. His first full three seasons rank right up there with Dan Marino’s first full three seasons. Over 14,000 yards passing but with a Super Bowl win. Kansas City has Tyreek Hill, the Cheetah. Maybe the fastest guy in the NFL. He makes opposing defensive backs look as if they are standing still. Then there is Travis Kelce. The number one rated tight end in the NFL. The Chiefs are young, talented and exciting just like me. We are a perfect fit
The Tampa Buccaneers have a pretty good team. Though I think they bribed the referees in the Super Bowl. How else could they have won 31 to 9 over the great Kansas City Chiefs? That’s unimaginable. It feels like heresy to utter such a score. Surely there had to be trickeration involved. But back to the Buccaneers. I think that Tampa Bay may be overrated. You have Tom Brady right? What has this guy done in his entire career to make a case for the greatest quarterback of all time? All he has accomplished is reach 10 Super Bowls in 19 seasons. Have the most career touchdown passes ever and flex seven Super Bowl rings? That’s it? Okay, jokes aside. You have Mike Evans, His size, catch radius and red-zone steadiness has helped the Buccaneers put opponents on the back foot. The massive bundle of leaping bulk is a big threat due to the agility and speed he possesses that allows him to cover 40 yards in four to five seconds. With him, you have Chis Godwin, Antonio Brown as receivers. Maybe the best trio in the NFL. Then you have Gronk and O.J. Howard as tight ends. Then you have Fournette and Rojo as running backs. Then you have a defence with Ndamukong Suh, Shaquille Barrett, Jason Pierre Paul, Lavonte David, Devin White and Vita Vea. That is a pretty good defence. Maybe you guys are overrated after all
I think the Buccaneers are going to be better this season than they were last season. They have their whole team back. They have trained and practised together now. They know one another. I think the Buccaneers are going to the playoffs again this season. I expect them to be in and win the NFC championship game.
I expect the Buccaneers to meet the Chiefs in the next Super Bowl again. Watching the two lock horns in the Super Bowl last year was mouth-watering. And Brady proved that night that there’s no substitute for experience, especially when it comes to the big games. But this season when they meet in the Super Bowl it is going to be different. It hurts me to say this (no it doesn’t), it will hurt you far more. But I feel like the Mahomes and co will overcome their previous drawbacks to make it 1-1 in the Super Bowls in 2021. They will beat the Bucs worse than they were beaten. The final score will be 38-3.
