Well, there is nothing to wrap up this Monday because there were no professional football games played. This weekend was the calm before the storm. Millions upon millions of football fans are waiting with bated breath and insomnia for Thursday night. When the NFL World Champion Super Bowl-winning Tampa bay Buccaneers open their season against the Dallas Cowboys. For Tampa Bay fans it’s like Christmas all over again and again. There was the Christmas of December 25th, 2020. Then there was Christmas on January 17, 2021. When the Buccaneers beat the Saints. Then there was Christmas again on January 24th. When the Bucs beat the Green bay Packers. Then there was Christmas once again on February 8th, 2021. When the Buccaneers beat Kansas City to win the Super Bowl.

Now Christmas is here again for Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans. In the form of a game against the Dallas Cowboys come Thursday night. The Cowboys were bad last year. They were bad the year before. They were bad the year before that and the year before that.  Nothing has changed for Dallas in those four years. They have the same QB in Dak Prescott. Who, due to a horrific injury, is less of a player than he was four years ago. His mobility, once his greatest asset, is severely limited. This does not bode well for the Cowboys. So…it’s going to be as easy as opening presents come Thursday. With the Cowboys being the presents. But waiting to open your presents is the hardest thing about Christmas

The city of Tampa Bay is drunk with sports success. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup. The Buccaneers won the Lombardi Trophy. The Tampa Bay Rays are in contention for MLB’s Commissioner’s Trophy. Now the Buccaneers are back at it. Fire them cannons boys and enjoy your Labor Day.
