MONDAY MORNING WRAPUP

Week 2

Think and grow rich. That is what Fans and PLayers are doing in Tampa Bay these days and they are growing richer every week. The Reigning Defending Tampa Bay Buccaneer choked out the Atlanta Falcons 48 to 25. Yes, sports fans, as good as Tampa was. This was more about how bad Atlanta is. Tom Brady threw for 5 TDs. Two to Evans. One to Godwin. Two to Gronk. The Tampa Bay defense scored 2 TDs of their own. The Buc player are ecstatic that they get to play the Falcons twice a year. Stat padding is great in contract talks.

Elsewhere in the division. The eternal nemesis,  the New Orleans Saints, lost to the Carolina Panthers 26-7. After his sleeping beauty debut last week in which he threw for 5 TDs. The clock stuck midnite in this game and Jameis Winston turned back into the frog he was in Tampa. Winton threw for two INTs and no TDs. Winston is going to have to pick up the pace if he wants to challenge his 30 INT season. Lucky for him there are still 15 games left. The Panthers meanwhile have struck paydirt in Sam Darnold. Darnold looked like the 2nd coming of Joe Namath out there guaranteeing a win. The Panthers are a team to keep an eye on.

The Buc’s next opponent. The Los Angeles Rams eked out a win of the Indianapolis Colts 27- 24. Indy had a chance from the beginning. But they went it on 4th and goal and failed. From there they never recovered. Matthew Stafford was nothing to write home about and neither was Carson Wentz. After watching these two Cam Newton may have a point.

The 49ers slapped the Philly Eagles back down to earth 17-11. The Eagles put a lot of pressure on Garrapolo who ended up scrambling 11 times for 20 yards. Eagles QB Hurts played like the rookie he is in this uninspiring game.

The Titans took the Seahawks to the woodshed for a 33-30 win. Seattle diva Russell Wilson didn’t do enough to win. But I’m sure he feels good about himself anyway. The team might have lost be he looked good.

The Chicago bears surprised everyone by winning a game. They beat the hapless Bengals 20 to 17. But a win is a win. Even if it is a win against a bottom-tier team like the Bengals. Especially since the Bears are a bottom-tier team also.

The Vikings manage to pull defeat from the jaws of victory with a loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The final score was 34-33. The game was won on a last-second field goal by Arizona.

AFC Notables: Kansas City Lost to Baltimore 36-35. This win will Lamar Jackson fanatics will puff out their chest and bellow that he is a good QB. No, he is not. He is a good running back who can throw. But he will never be a good quarterback.

The New England Patriots slapped up on the New York Jet. But that’s like assault and battery on a minor. A very minor minor. The Jets are a stat padder for every team they play.

The.. the.. The.. That’s All FOLKS
