Rams And Bengals Make for Exciting Super Bowl Matchup

The Los Angeles Rams have officially moved on to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl. I’ll go out on a limb here and say that nobody was expecting this big matchup to be the Bengals and Rams. Yet here we are, two completely different teams ready to square off for a ring.

Looking at the Rams first, they are literally built to win the championship. They have traded away a lot of draft capital and used a lot of money to bring in big time veteran players with a lot of experience. Their offense is stacked to the brim with Matthew Stafford leading them all. Sony Michel and Cam Akers form a pretty dynamic duo in the backfield as well. Then Cooper Kupp as we all know is in MVP contention and has scored a touchdown in every postseason game that he has played up to this point. His partner in crime, Odell Beckham, has also seen his stat line get better each week in the playoffs while he gets more comfortable with his new franchise. Flipping over to their defense, and there are just stars everywhere. They have arguably the best cornerback in the league in Jalen Ramsey. Then they have the flat out best defensive tackle in the NFL in Aaron Donald. To make it even scarier, Von Miller is rushing off the edge to ease pressure for Donald and create a ton of one-on-one opportunities. Finally, we have Eric Weddle in the back of the defense. Many may forget that he came out of retirement to join the team, but he already led the team in tackles last week against the San Francisco 49ers with nine.

Now for the Bengals overview. Joe Burrow is just that guy. There just isn’t any other way around it. The second-year signal caller is phenomenal and brings a type of swagger that is just unmatched. He also had a wonderful trio of wideouts to throw the football too in Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Joe Mixon hasn’t been that bad this season either but the production just isn’t there throughout the postseason. The offensive line is questionable, as they allowed nine sacks one game then zero right after. Cincinnati’s defense is really where they keep themselves in contention. Logan Wilson, Jessie Bates, Trey Hendrickson and Vonn Bell have all heavily contributed to the massive turnaround that this unit has made. A lot of them haven’t even been on the roster long yet they all understand one another incredibly well. Chemistry like that is hard to beat.

Every part of my head is saying that the Rams are just easily the more talented team and will win this game at home. However, my heart really thinks that the Bengals win this game. It sort of feels like they are destined to win with Burrow this season. Everything just seems to be working out for them. Ultimately, it is going to be a close game either way but put me down as taking the Bengals in what could top off a miraculous year.
