In the strangest NFL weekend in my recent memory. The 3 losingest teams in the last 3 years won their 1st games in 5he 2nd week of the season.
The New York Jets, who have just 13 wins over the last 3 seasons beat the vaunted Cleveland Browns. The Jets, with slow, old Joe Flacco beat the Browns in Cleveland. Scoring 14 pts in one minute and 22 seconds. 1st Flacco threw to TD to Cory Brown. A player the Browns didn’t know existed because there wasn’t a Browns player within 30 yards of him. The Jets then attempted an onside kick and lo and behold. They recovered it. Then slow old Joe Flacco drove the Jets 50 yards down the field for another TD and the win.
But it gets better boys and girls
The much maligned Detroit Lions. A team that has managed to win only a total of 11 games over the last three seasons defeated the Washington Commanders. And they didn’t do it in some Mickey Mouse fashion like stealing the game in the last minute and 22 seconds. The Lion put the bite on the Commanders right from the start. At the half they led 22 to nothing. And won the game easily 36 to 27
But the cherry on top of all of that was that The Jacksonville Jaguars also won on Sunday. In the last 3 seasons Jacksonville phas gone 6-10, 1-15 and 3 -14. That adds up to a total of just 10 wins in that span of 3 years. That’s pretty bad. The worst in the league. If Jacksonville was a horse they would have shot it to put them out of their misery. But the Jacksonville franchise are Jaguars and probably on the endangered species list. So they get a pass to continue to agonize their fans. But on Sunday the Jaguars laid the smackdown on the Indianapolis Colts. Beating them 24 to Nothing. Who saw that coming?
Needless to say I picked all three to lose… But I’m sure 90% of those who watched the NFL did also.
And if that didn’t beat all. Even the New York Giants won. The Giants can’t claim to be as bad as the Jets, or the Lions or the Jaguars. They won 14 games over the last 3 years. That’s almost five games a year. Heck. Those other 3 teams can only hope to one day be as good as the New York Football Giants. The Giants are also 2-0 for the season. So HOPE springs eternal for everybody. Keep plugging away everyone…all of us are 1 win away from a change in the direction of our lives. So lets put in the work to effect the change. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
