Buc fans have plenty to be thankful for in their current team. But we all have plenty to be thankful for. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As I summered in Boston I met a woman on my way to the Planet Fitness gym on River St., It was 4:30 am, and as I passed by Central av. I saw a woman walk across the street, bend down and pick something up, Then began to walk again. Then saw her do it again. Then I saw her walk over to a trash can and place what she had picked up into it. Hmmmm.
Now the area I am driving through is not the nicest. So for her safety. I am a bit concern about what this woman is doing. It is dark, the sun isn’t up. What is this woman doing out here all by herself? I drive up to her and ask “is everything ok”. She looked at me like I had 7 heads.
“Yes, I am fine. I am just doing what I do every morning.” As she said that she folded her arms and stared at me “Cleaning up around here”.
Now I looked at her like she had seven heads.
” You mean you go around picking up trash. Trying to clean this street”
“Yes, I do. Every day Every morning.”
“Why”?I asked
Because It needs to be done. No, I do not get paid for this. I do it because it needs to be done. We are human beings. We don’t need the government picking up behind us. We can do this. We can do things for ourselves”
I was amazed and humbled. She is right. I asked if I could take a picture of her so I could write this story. It took a bit. But finally, Norma Frieson agreed.
Thanks for your example, Norma. Now, as I walk the streets. I pick up trash too.
